Description of the attraction

The most heroic and large-scale attraction of the city of Saratov is Victory Park.

The park zone was founded in 1975 on the most panoramic place of Saratov - Sokolovaya Gora, by ordinary townspeople, in whose hearts the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and respect for those who went through the entire war to the end remained. In 1982, a 40-meter-high monument "Cranes" was erected, which is visible almost anywhere in the city.

Now the Victory Park is a multi-kilometer open-air museum of military glory; this is the memory of 130 thousand Saratov residents who volunteered for the front, this is more than 130 exhibits of military equipment, which is a fleet of combat vehicles (aviation, artillery, tanks, armored personnel carriers, BMD, BMP, missile systems, multiple launch rocket systems); this is the Saratov State Museum of Military Glory (documents, letters from the front and photographs, personal belongings, military awards, weapons and other military relics of that time); it is a national village with houses, yurts, castles, where national dishes are traditionally prepared on May 9 and creates a festive atmosphere; these are five observation platforms, each of them opens up a variety of panoramas of the city, the Volga, and its surroundings.

Saratov Victory Park can be safely called unique; military equipment collected from all over the country, 66 species of seedlings grown into large trees and beautiful shrubs, an eternal flame next to the monument of glory and of course a beautiful cannon whose volley at noon on May 9 every year reminds of the great Victory.
