Description of the attraction

On the west coast of the Greek island of Skopelos lies the small resort town of Elios, also known as Neo Klima. It is located in an amazingly picturesque place among dense pine forests about 18-19 km from the capital of the island of the same name.

Elios is a very young settlement, built only in 1981. After the village of Klima was destroyed in 1965 as a result of a strong earthquake, most of its residents were left without a roof over their heads and were forced to leave their homes. Subsequently, a significant part of the population of the destroyed Klim settled in Elios. Actually, this is where the third name of Elios arose - Neo Klima, which literally means “New Klima”.

Today Elios is one of the most popular resort towns of Skopelos Island. Stunning natural landscapes, crystal-clear waters of the Aegean Sea and well-developed tourist infrastructure attract more and more tourists to Elios every year. Today, there are many good hotels and apartments in Elios, but you should still take care of booking in advance. Local restaurants and taverns are renowned for their good selection of fresh seafood.

The magnificent sandy and pebble beaches of Elios and its surroundings certainly deserve special attention. You will find here both beautifully organized beaches with sun loungers, sun umbrellas, showers and a variety of entertainment, as well as completely untouched by civilization, but striking in their beauty. The excellent Hovolo beach with fine golden sand is considered to be one of the best beaches on the island.

In the small, picturesque harbor of Elios, you can rent a boat and take an exciting boat trip along the western coast of Skopelos.
