Description of the attraction
The main park of Tiraspol is the Pobeda Culture and Recreation Park, which is not at all surprising, since it is here that most of the locals generally like to relax.
The initiator of the creation of the park was the famous architect A. V. Shchusev, who visited Tiraspol after the end of the Great Patriotic War. The Tiraspol Park was founded in 1947 on the site of a previously located fruit and berry garden. The park, with a total area of about 15 hectares, was named in honor of the victory over the German occupiers in the Great Patriotic War. In 1960, a monument to G. Kotovsky was erected in the very center of the park. The author of this work was the sculptor L. Dubinovsky. In 1968, several attractions began to operate in the park, and in 1987 a fountain was installed here. In 2000, the building of the Summer Stage was commissioned.
Initially, for local residents, the Pobeda Park was a suburban recreation area, but due to the rapid growth of the city, the Tiraspol Park ended up on the border between the Oktyabrsky residential area and the Central District of the city.
Among the townspeople, the Park of Culture and Leisure "Pobeda" is considered an excellent place for recreation, as well as a permanent venue for various cultural events. There is a cozy cafe with beautiful terraces and many entertainment attractions. The very first amusement ride in the park - "Air Carousel" - was installed in 1968, but despite this, it is successfully operating to this day. In addition, there is an opportunity to visit the "Ferris Wheel", attractions "Surprise", "Island of Happiness" and "Boats". It will be interesting for young visitors to ride the attractions "Bell", "Carnival", "Junga", "Sun", "Locomotive" and "Trampoline".
In 1983, in the Tiraspol Victory Park, some episodes of the film "You Telegram" were filmed.
