Description of the attraction
The main attraction of the city of Khvalynsk is the National Park, the total area of which is 140438 hectares. The park was founded in 1994 on the basis of three forestry districts (Alekseevsky, Khvalynsky and Sosnovo-Mazinsky), forming a protected zone, the task of which was to preserve the objects of flora and fauna. Protected, recreational and economic zones are located throughout the park.
A variety of excursions await the guests of the park: to the burial mounds (archaeological sites of the Bronze Age), the monk's cave, the Holy Spring, the forest museum, where paleontological and archaeological finds of the park will be shown. Also, visitors will be shown the park area of the Vorontsov-Dashkova estate, visit the Teremok open-air cage farm, where wild and exotic animals are listed in the Red Book, and the Ethnographic Museum "Wooden Compound", where they will acquaint with the way of life and household items of peasants and artisans Khvalynsky region.
