The heraldic symbol of this Ukrainian city is made with the preservation of national colors and historical symbols. On the one hand, the coat of arms of Dnepropetrovsk looks quite solemn. On the other hand, the symbols depicted on it speak of the heroic past of the city and its inhabitants, the readiness to defend the homeland in the future.

For the shield, the Slavic form was chosen, that is, it has a rounded bottom. Interestingly, this form is widespread in Ukraine, in contrast to the coats of arms of Russian cities, where the overwhelming majority have a French shield.
The shield is completely painted in azure color, symbolizing courage, honor, military glory and valor. Weapons correlate with Cossack weapons, they also act as a symbol of combat effectiveness and readiness to defend borders. Three stars - a reference to the three districts that make up the city, also a symbol of the continuity of times (past, present and future).
