In addition to its huge cultural heritage and the latest innovations in the field of skyscraper construction, the Celestial Empire willingly demonstrates its natural reserves to tourists. Among the numerous nature reserves in China and its protected areas, they are especially popular with tourists, thanks to the opportunity to admire the unique natural landscapes and observe the disappearing and rare representatives of the animal world.

Wildlife fund symbol

The main environmental organization of the planet has chosen as its symbol a giant panda, whose image flaunts on the emblem of the foundation. The most important nature reserve in China from the point of view of the protection of these cute animals is the Sichuan nature reserve Wolun.

Created in 1963, this national park is intended to protect the giant panda, whose population was rapidly declining in the second half of the last century. Today in the Volun reserve there are about one and a half hundred of these cute bears, the main food of which is bamboo.

Bamboo groves are no less pride of scientists involved in nature conservation activities in the reserve. Tourists who visit Volun for two days in a row can also see how bamboo shoots grow by almost a meter per day - this is how much time local excursion programs offer to spend in the reserve.

Tianzhushan Stone Symphony

This reserve of China in the east of the country is especially loved by those who are crazy about mountains. No joke, because on an area of only 82 sq. km. dozens of natural attractions and unique landscapes are concentrated:

  • The 45 mountain peaks are a delight for rock climbing enthusiasts.
  • 86 unusual stones, each of which boasts its own name.
  • 22 caves and 17 mountain passes provide interesting routes for both climbers and speleologists.
  • A dozen rivers and as many as eight waterfalls create a pleasant environment for the rugged cliffs.

You can climb the highest peak of this nature reserve in China on foot along a mountain trail or take a funicular. From the height of Tianzhu Peak, which soars into the sky for almost one and a half kilometers, magnificent views of the Yangtze River in its lower reaches open up.

Kingdom of the tropics

Everything is huge in the Oulong Reserve - butterflies here resemble outlandish birds, and cicadas reach a length of 15 cm, resembling animals rather than insects. Various ecosystems of this national park allow red panda and red deer, snow leopards and mongooses to live on its territory. Oolong's biggest mystery is the Invisible Mountain, whose summit is covered by clouds for 350 days a year. He who saw her, according to local signs, will be very lucky in life.
