Description of the attraction
The Piramida cultural and entertainment complex is located in the very center of Kazan, in close proximity to the Kazan Kremlin and the central pedestrian street Bauman. Near the complex there is a five-star hotel "Mirage", the central stadium of the city, Millennium Square, the Bulak canal, the main railway station in the city.
The Pyramids project was developed in 1996 by the leading architects of the city of Gulsine and Viktor Tokarev. It was the first modern cultural and entertainment complex in the city. In 1997, construction began and in 2002 the complex was opened. The opening was accompanied by a grandiose laser show.
The exterior and interior structures, as well as the interiors of the new building, are executed in an ultra-modern high-tech style. The height of the building is 31.5 m. The total area of the internal premises is 14400 sq. M. The complex is designed for 2500 guests. The building has seven levels. The main concert hall is two-level, with an area of 1375 sq.m. It accommodates 1130 spectators. The outer walls of the "Pyramid" are glazed. The building has an outdoor panoramic lift that rises 22 meters.
At night, the building is illuminated by powerful upward floodlights. Powerful rays shine in different directions and form a virtual, inverted pyramid. There is a multi-level fountain in the lobby. The passages to the restaurant and the second floor of the hall have glass floors. An exposition of ancient Tatar jewelry and various household items is visible through the glass.
There is still debate over the appropriateness of such a building in the historic city center. According to some experts, the building is in good harmony with the Spasskaya and Watchtower towers located nearby, as well as the monument to those who fell during the capture of Kazan, made in the form of a pyramid. Together with the building of the Kazan Circus and the Central Stadium "Pyramid" it forms a modern ensemble. It is this ensemble that forms the architectural appearance of the Millennium Square.
Events of the republican, city, Russian and international levels are held in the "Pyramida" recreation center. The building hosts the annual Kazan Film Festival "Golden Minbar", which is international.
There are various establishments here: a fitness club, billiards, a two-level restaurant with a panoramic view of Kazan for 200 people, a nightclub, a beauty salon, a bowling alley, video and photo salons, a cafe-bar, souvenir boutiques and much more.
In the summer, in front of the Pyramid building, a huge inflatable tent in the form of a ball for 1,500 people is erected, in which discos are held.
There is a convenient underground car parking under the Pyramid building.
