Description of the attraction
Sofia is one of the greenest cities with a large number of parks on the entire Balkan Peninsula: the capital of Bulgaria is decorated with all kinds of parks, squares and gardens.
The central city park of Sofia - Borisov garden. It is located along the Tsarigradskoe highway, right behind the Orlov bridge. In front of the entrance to the park there is a picturesque lake Ariana. In Borisov Garden there is the Vasil Levski stadium, which has national status, as well as the stadium of the Bulgarian army. In addition, there are tennis courts and a cycling track. If you go deeper into the park, you can see the Maria Luisa bath with two pools, one of the pools of which is equipped with a 10-meter high jumping tower.
Many alleys, including asphalted and "wild" ones, turn Borisov Garden into a full-fledged place for measured rest. The initial part of the park is occupied by a summer stage for various concerts and performances, there are also various playgrounds and places for outdoor games.
In the Borisov Garden Park there is a monument called "Mass Grave", referring to the socialist period in the history of Bulgaria. In connection with this, the park was called Freedom Park for a long time. The alleys in this part of the park are decorated with busts of revolutionaries and artists.
