Sun City and Lost City entertainment complex nestles on 60 acres of South African desert in the crater of an extinct volcano, where luxury in the embrace of lush greenery has taken on a new meaning. The crown jewel of Sun City is the Palace of the Lost City, which boasts hand-carved interiors and exquisite furnishings that depict a classic South African landscape.
Inspired by the myths of the lost African kingdom, Lost City opened in December 1992. It is located on the highest point in Sun City, its magnificent proportions and graceful towers are visible from every corner of the resort. The astonishing imagination of the architect of the African palace emerges in every detail, from the stately structures to the fine mosaics of frescoes and fountains that complement the graceful architecture.
Outside there is an imitation of a sea beach with velvet palms. The Wave Valley includes a 5600 sqm pool, water slides and bridges. The lush decoration of the botanical garden, crossed by hiking trails, makes the Palace even more charming. The hotel's main dining room is also unique, overlooking the whimsically designed pool, surrounded by plush sun loungers, where visitors can soak up the sunshine. Fountains, noisy waterfalls and an incredible number of sculptures along the paths between the hotel and its gardens, golf courses and the Valley of the Waves pool - this idyllic beach with a bay, reminiscent of a tropical island from a postcard, causes only enthusiastic exclamations from visitors.
