Description of the attraction
Etnaland is one of the largest entertainment complexes in Sicily, located in the open air in the town of Valcorrente, 12 km from Catania. Once upon a time there was a small zoo in its place. In 2001, a water park with numerous water slides and attractions was built nearby, and in 2005 the Crocodile Slides entertainment zone was added. Two years later - in 2007 - the zoo, water park and the last attraction were combined into one complex, which was given the name "Etnaland", since it is located near Mount Etna.
Today, here on an area of 110 thousand square meters. a wide variety of entertainment venues work, where both adults and children will find something to their liking. So, in the Aqua Park there are more than 20 slides to choose from - both ordinary and spiral and dashingly twisted. In the zoo, you can see tigers, colorful parrots, pink flamingos, severe bears and other animals with your own eyes. And next to it is the Dinosaur Park with life-size models of 23 prehistoric giants and reconstruction of the first anthropoids. Especially popular are the aforementioned "Crocodile Slides" - descent in a boat along an artificially created river with rapids, which is inhabited by elephants, hippos and other animals. Despite the fact that these are just carefully crafted mock-ups, the attacks of bats and attacks of crocodiles cause a genuine adrenaline rush. Finally, it is worth taking a ride on the 1800 meters long cable car - one of the largest in Europe. It offers a wonderful view of Mount Etna and the Botanical Garden on its slopes.
Around Etnaland, there are numerous retail outlets and recreational facilities. And in the nearby town of Belpasso there is a large shopping mall "Etnapolis". In the next few years, the park's management plans to expand its territory by 20 thousand square meters, on which five thematic zones will be built.
