Description of the attraction
Kalevala Village is an open-air museum dedicated to Finnish history and culture. The village is built according to traditional construction methods. Dressed in national Finnish costumes, the guides talk about tar-smoking, reveal the secrets of wood-carving masters, talk about traditional fishing and hunting techniques. Here you can also get acquainted with traditional Finnish rituals and watch a theatrical performance based on the Kalevala folk epic.
On Christmas Day, the village is ruled by Santa Claus and his entourage. Children and adults from all over the world gather to meet real Christmas - a fairy tale and reality - at the same time. Here you can visit an underground cave with gnomes, taste their magic drink, listen to Christmas carols and visit Santa Claus's workshop.
