Description of the attraction

National Park of Herbs with an area of 0.81 sq. km is located near the Taungne road in Naypyidaw. Here are collected medicinal plants from different Burmese states, which are used for hypertension, malaria, tuberculosis, diabetes, etc. 3065 herbs of 208 species were brought from the states of Kachin, Kaya, Shan, Sikain, Taninthaya, Yangon and Ayeyarwaddy. 8425 plants of 424 species came from the regions of Mont and Karen. Plants of each species are marked with special information plates, on which their names are indicated in Latin and Burmese. English text is rare.

Locals believe the park was organized to annoy the city government of Yangon, the previous capital of Myanmar. After all, there is no botanical garden in Yangon. In fact, the government of Myanmar established the National Herbal Park with the aim of preserving rare species of medicinal plants and maintaining the traditional medicine of Myanmar. Naturally, no one collects herbs to create medicines here.

The Herbs National Park, considered the lungs of the new capital of Myanmar, was opened in 2008. The entrance is free.

The park is quite large. There is everything for leisurely walks and meeting with friends: several overgrown artificial reservoirs, flower beds, between which walkways are laid, shady groves of trees, a rose garden, greenhouses and greenhouses. They come here with small children to hide from the sweltering heat and hide from the sun. Tourists take a break here from shopping and sightseeing.
