The international airport in Nizhnevartovsk is located 4 kilometers from the city in its northwestern part. The runway of the airline, with a length of more than three thousand meters, has a powerful asphalt concrete surface, and is capable of accommodating aircraft of all types: from small An-2 and helicopters to wide-body Boeing 737, 767, 757. This makes it possible to connect Nizhnevartovsk with more than 50 -y cities of Russia, CIS countries, Europe and the AOE.

History
In 1965, the first assigned airport was created at Samotlor with a permanent location for a flight of An-2 aircraft and Mi-4 helicopters, serving mainly local airlines. And in 1969, on its basis, the Nizhnevartovsk United Air Squadron was created as the first independent aviation enterprise.
In 1971, the aviation enterprise received a new location (where it is based to this day) and put into operation a new runway, which makes it possible to accept the first TU-134 for service. In 1990, the airport regularly began to receive IL-86 airbuses. And already in 1992, after another reconstruction, the airport received the status of a first-class enterprise. By 1994, the airline began serving international flights.
