For three years in a row, the Chisinau airline was recognized as the best airport in the CIS countries, and in 2011 it was awarded a prize in the category Dynamically developing airport of the CIS countries.

History

The airport began to operate the first international flights to Ukraine and Russia since the second half of the last century.

Over the entire period of its existence, the airport in Chisinau has repeatedly changed its location, going beyond the city boundaries. The first air terminal was located on the street, which is now called Aerodromnaya.

In 1960, the airport moved to the suburban town of Revaka. And after 40 years of operation, a complete reconstruction of the airport was carried out, using credit funds of $ 10 million. To repay the loan amount, the airline was forced to impose a targeted levy - $ 10 from each passenger using the airport services. And by 2011, the loan amount was fully repaid.

Service and services

Airport service in Chisinau fully meets the requirements of international standards. Here there are comfortable and thought-out waiting rooms, there is free internet, an arcade of duty-free shops, where you can buy almost everything - from souvenirs to locally produced food and wines.

Convenient navigation allows passengers to move around the airport on a mobile basis, information services are available, and round-the-clock airport security is organized.

The terminal building has four cafes, a restaurant, a chocolate boutique, and many points for packing luggage to protect it from damage during transportation.

Transport

From the airport to the city center, the movement of regular buses and minibuses has been established. The fare in public transport is a little more than 10 Russian rubles. The frequency of buses is every 40 minutes, minibuses run every 10 minutes.

Taxis may well serve as an alternative to public transport. The cost of one trip will cost 50 - 80 Moldovan lei.
