The memory of this war and the victory of the Thais is immortalized in the Monument to the Sisters-Heroines Thep Krasatri and Si Sunn Thon, who managed to organize the defense of the island and outwit the enemies: two bronze women, dressed in men's clothes, stand with Thai swords in their hands.
The building, built in a classic South Thai style, houses the National Museum. In its exposition you can see Chinese porcelain, ancient cult objects, and items of folk crafts.
In the Prathong wad there is an amazing statue of a gilded Buddha, half buried in the ground. They tried to dig it out several times, but all attempts ended in failure. This was seen as a sign that the Buddha did not want to be dug up and a legend was born that anyone who tries to dig up or move the statue will be in great misfortune. There is a small archaeological museum on the territory of the monastery.
