Description of the attraction
The Donetsk Opera House named after A. Solovyanenko was built according to the project of L. Kotovsky in 1941, on the eve of the war. This monumental building was erected in the spirit of the then inherent socialist realism and crowned with heavy bas-reliefs and a very voluminous sculpture.
The building of this theater itself is executed in a classical style. The approaches to the theater building are located from three sides. As for the auditorium and the theater itself from the inside, both the walls and the ceilings are decorated with magnificent decorations - stucco and gilding. In the foyer of the theater, you can see huge decorative vases, as well as statues of famous writers and composers. The hall has 976 seats. Although initially there were 1300 of them. The theater has a mechanized stage, which consists of a main stage, with an area of about 560 square meters. The circle of this stage can withstand a load of up to 75 tons.

Solovyanenko covered with gold; it is presented in the image of the Duke from the famous opera Rigoletto and symbolizes the “golden voice of the 20th century”.
