Description of the attraction

The Opera House of the city of Ruse is located on the Holy Trinity Square. Its extensive repertoire is able to satisfy even the most demanding needs of connoisseurs and lovers of opera art: not only the classical and textbook operas by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Giacomo Puccini and Giuseppe Verdi, but also more modern works by composers Stravinsky, Shostakovich and many others, sound from the stage. Over the years of turbulent activity, over two hundred different musical and theatrical works have been staged on the stage of this theater, many of which were premieres for Bulgaria. Many world-famous performers have performed on the stage of the Ruse Opera House in different years, such as: Raina Kabaivanskaya, Anna Tomova-Sintova, Nikolay Gyaurov, Todor Mazarov, Elena Nikolai, etc.

The theater was created in 1949 on the basis of the Ruse Opera Society and since 1956, thanks to the talent and professionalism of the creative team, has become widely known and regularly tours many countries of the world (Italy, Greece, France, Luxembourg, Ukraine, Holland, Romania, Belgium, Spain and etc.).

In 1999, the Philharmonic Orchestra and the Opera House of this city merged under the direction of the conductor Nayden Todorov, well-known far beyond the borders of Bulgaria. Currently, visitors are presented with two halls, the total capacity of which reaches six hundred seats. In addition, the newly formed society has its own recording studio.
