Description of the attraction
The resort town of Vasiliki is located on the southern coast of Lefkada, 4 km from Agia Petros and about 40 km from the capital. Until recently, Vasiliki was just a small fishing village. Today this place is considered the second largest resort on the island after Nydri.
Vasiliki is located in a cozy natural bay surrounded by picturesque mountains covered with lush vegetation. The tourist infrastructure of Vasiliki is very well developed and there is almost everything you need for a good rest (shops, a medical center, post office, police, etc.). Here you will find a good selection of fine hotels and comfortable apartments. However, accommodation should be taken care of in advance, as the resort is very popular and by the middle of summer the choice will be quite limited.
Most of the restaurants and taverns are located in the waterfront area, where you can relax and enjoy excellent Greek cuisine. For lovers of active evening entertainment, there is also an excellent night disco in Vasiliki. The beaches of the resort and its surroundings are mostly pebbly.
Vasiliki gained worldwide fame due to the peculiarities of climatic conditions, ideal for windsurfing, and today it is considered one of the best such places in the world. Here you will find great windsurfing clubs and schools (for beginners), as well as rental centers for the necessary equipment. Sailing, kitesurfing, cycling and horse riding are very popular in Vasiliki.
The small port of Vasiliki provides regular boat connections to the islands of Kefalonia and Ithaca during the summer. You can also book a short excursion or rent a boat and visit the most beautiful beaches of the island - Porto Katsiki, Agiofili and Alektori.
