Description of the attraction

In the late 1880s, a tenement house was opened at the intersection of Moskovskaya and Priyutskaya (now Komsomolskaya) streets. The three-storey building, attracting attention with its unique "Russian" style, belonged to the merchant of the 2nd guild Taras Vasilyevich Gorin.

The same economic benefit pushed Gorin to build an apartment building in the central part of the city. The main purpose of the Apartment Building was to rent out premises, which made it possible to solve the problem of a shortage of housing, which was acute by the end of the nineteenth century, and at the same time to profit from it.

Gorin erecting a majestic multi-section house-complex on the street. Moskovskaya won in everything. Subsequently, for several decades, the apartment building of TV Gorin was taken as the basis for the subsequent development of the city.

In 1909. the house was leased to the branch of the Peasant Bank and the branch of the Saratov insurance company "Volga", bringing the owner of the house a huge income for those times, a thousand rubles a month. After the sudden departure of Taras Vasilyevich and his entire family in 1909. from the country, Gorin was declared bankrupt and all real estate was auctioned off.

In our time, the building of the Profitable House of TV Gorin has been restored and included in the list of architectural monuments of the late nineteenth century.
