The Krasnodar Territory occupies the most advantageous position on the territory of the Russian Federation. Located in the south, with a favorable climate and good soil, it has access to the sea and its own part of the Caucasus Mountains, many large and small resorts. The question of where to go to rest in Krasnodar or Sochi is often not worth it.
Who would refuse to visit the capital of the 2012 Winter Olympic Games, because here you can see and try out numerous sports facilities, lie on the Black Sea coast, admire the natural beauty, mountain waterfalls and lakes. Krasnodar in terms of tourism is significantly inferior, although it has one, undoubted advantage - rest here is much cheaper than in the resorts of Greater Sochi.

Tourist shopping in Krasnodar is divided into two important areas: souvenirs related to the Cossacks (paraphernalia, dolls in traditional clothes, hats); delicious products from local producers (tomatoes, black seeds, oil, honey, wine and an indispensable attribute of summer holidays - churchkhela).
In Sochi, shopping is not the most important thing for which tourists come, shops and shopping centers do not stand out in anything special. Taking into account the past sporting events, the city has been enriched with several large shopping and entertainment centers, but it is worth visiting them in the rain and when there is nothing else to do.
Restaurants and cafes
There are many food establishments in the capital of the region, there can be no other way. On Krasnaya Street, the main gathering place for tourists, there are such cafes and restaurants at every turn, and they offer both Russian cuisine and dishes from foreign chefs. The best hotels have the same pretentious and expensive restaurants, guests, for the most part, are looking for places with more democratic prices and are considered "chips" of Krasnodar. We are talking about restaurants with Greek, Georgian, Armenian and South Russian cuisine.
The large resort of Sochi amazes with a huge number of catering establishments, so as not to waste time in vain, you can inquire in advance about the reviews of visitors, choosing a cafe and restaurant, in accordance with your taste and finances.
Entertainment and excursions
At the beginning of the twentieth century, Krasnodar received a beautiful nickname - "Little Paris", the city is cozy and beautiful, although it is not located on the coast, but it is ready to provide guests with a large excursion program. A sightseeing walk around the city begins from Krasnaya Street, from its name it is clear that the main historical monuments, religious and secular masterpieces of architecture are concentrated here: the Cathedral, consecrated in honor of St. Catherine, the quaint building of the local Central Post Office, the Art Museum.
There are a lot of entertainments in Sochi for guests, firstly, it is a seaside resort, so the main attractions are collected on the beaches, here there are walks on spoons, yachts, riding on all types of water transport, including "bananas". A special chapter of recreation is diving, there are several centers, rental points and many opportunities for exploring the seabed and its inhabitants.
In the city itself, you can find several amazing places, for example, the City Arboretum, where you can see trees, traditional for this region, and exotics. The same impression is left by one more corner of nature "Southern Cultures", but "Sochi Park", despite the presence of the word "park" in its name, invites children and adults to a completely different world - games, fun and breathtaking attractions.
Children's rest
Many tourists come to Krasnodar with their children, because they know that young researchers of Russia will be interested here too. The climate for children's stay is favorable, there are a huge number of parks and squares, the most famous is "Sunny Island" (the whole range of swing roundabouts, attractions and fun). There is a large safari park in the city, a planetarium, children's cafes, a Rope Park, a Museum of military equipment located right in the open air.
Sochi has also prepared a large entertainment and educational program for children. The funniest memories will remain after visiting local water parks with water attractions, the Sochi Park complex, automobile museums and Sochi Autodrom.
