Description of the attraction

The Sochi Museum of Sports Glory is one of the attractions of the resort city. The museum building is located in the very center of Sochi, on Sovetskaya Street, in front of the administration of the Central District. The museum itself was founded in June 2010 at the initiative of the city head A. N. Pakhomov.

The exposition of the museum has more than 300 exhibits that represent the achievements of the famous Sochi coaches and athletes. Among them are Olympic champions and prize-winners: V. Kondra, A. Voevod, E. Kafelnikov and Kh. Yunichev.

Museum items will tell visitors about all the historical stages of the Olympics, the current Olympic movement, the participation of local residents in the preparation for the Olympic Games. A special place among the exhibits is occupied by the Olympic torches, the Olympic and Paralympic flags presented to the mayor of the city at the Vancouver Olympics, as well as the signed "Contract for the XXII Olympic and XI Paralympic Games in Sochi 2014".

The guests' attention is drawn to sports equipment and sports equipment, including a bob, on which bobsledder A. Voevoda trained. In the Sochi Museum of Sports Glory, visitors can see a collection of stage costumes made for the closing ceremony of the XXI Olympic Games in Vancouver, models of the mountainous and coastal part of Sochi with a schematic representation of future Olympic facilities. The models are equipped with sound effects and illumination, which make it possible to fully appreciate the greatness and scale of the 2014 Olympics.
