Description of the attraction
In April 1993, the community of the Church of the Intercession of the Virgin in Simeiz was officially registered. The construction certificate was received on June 25, 1995. On October 14, 1997, a festive service was held on the Day of the Intercession of the Mother of God, it was conducted by Priest Yevgeny Khalabuzar - the site for the construction of the temple was consecrated. Soon the foundation of the temple was laid. The foundation of the Church of the Intercession was finally poured in 2003, and the construction of the walls continued in the same year. While the construction was underway, Father Eugene conducted services in another building, not so colorful, and on holidays, together with the parishioners, he performed the procession of the Cross at the walls of the future Church of the Intercession, which was under construction.
On May 24, 2008, the opening ceremony of the church was held, crosses and a dome were consecrated. The prayer service that day was led by the Yalta Dean Archpriest Adam Dmitrenko, co-served with the rector of the church, Priest Yevgeny Khalabuzar, the rector of the church, Archimandrite Alipy and other priests. Since then, services in the temple have continued. It itself is expanding, ennobled: a belfry with bells has been built. In 2011, an oak iconostasis was mounted; it will be decorated with many icons.
