The picturesque Greek island of Ios is one of the most popular islands in the Cyclades archipelago. It is located in the southern part of the Aegean Sea and is famous for its magnificent beaches. This island is especially popular among young people.
Mylopotas is considered to be the best beach in Ios and one of the best beaches in Greece. This magnificent beach has also been the owner of the famous "blue flag" on several occasions. It is located just 2 km south of the main settlement of the island - Chora in a small picturesque bay. Mylopotas Beach is famous for its golden sand and crystal clear emerald waters, and its length is about 1 km. The beach has many excellent bars, restaurants, cafes and shops, and the surrounding area has a good selection of comfortable hotels and apartments. There is also an opportunity to rent sun loungers and sun umbrellas at reasonable prices.
Mylopotas Beach is an ideal place not only for a traditional beach holiday. It also offers a wide variety of water sports and activities. Windsurfing, diving and beach volleyball are very popular in Mylopotas.
Despite the well-developed tourism industry in the area, Mylopotas has preserved a magnificent natural landscape. The bright Cycladic sun, the gentle waters of the Aegean Sea, a gorgeous sandy beach and a lot of excellent entertainment attract a huge number of tourists here from all over the world every year. You can get to this little paradise by bus from Chora or the port of Ios, as well as by a rented car (the journey will take only 10-15 minutes).
