Description of the attraction

Church of Ignatius Bryanchaninov is located in the city of Donetsk. Saint Ignatius Brianchaninov, who was the Bishop of Stavropol and the Caucasus, is especially revered by Orthodox believers. He was a strict adherent of ascetic traditions and an outstanding scientist, ascetic, archpastor, peacemaker, zealous guardian of Orthodox traditions and spiritual culture.

The temple in his honor is located in the private sector among small houses. Many years ago, it was the first large church to be erected in Donetsk after many years of atheism. The very first stone in the construction of the temple was laid in 1991 at the personal expense of Archimandrite Anthony Chernyshev, who had dreamed of building this temple all his life.

The construction of the temple was not easy enough. There were not always enough funds and very often they gave up, but the prayer, which was uttered incessantly, did its job - the temple was built, albeit slowly, but very confidently. 4 years later, at the beginning of 1995, the building of the temple was completed and completely finished. And in the same year, Father Anthony died. Many parishioners said that he calmed down for the temple and went to the Lord. Today, the rector of the church is Archpriest Alexander Namokonov. This person is in the temple around the clock and is ready to listen to everyone who turns to him.

The church has a close-knit and strong community, there are their own traditions. Often, after Sunday liturgies, parishioners communicate with each other, children and adolescents go to Sunday school, and after classes - to the art theater studio "Blagodar", where Natalia Namokonova conducts her studies.
