The capital of Poland in the old days and one of the most beautiful cities in the Old World, Krakow attracts tourists with its unique atmosphere of medieval streets, ancient castles and many architectural monuments protected by UNESCO lists as a cultural heritage of mankind. If you are studying the question of how to get to Krakow, pay attention not only to flights, but also to ground transport. In Europe, both buses and trains are particularly comfortable for passengers.
Choosing wings
There are no direct flights from Moscow or other Russian cities to Krakow, but it is quite possible to get to the old Polish capital with transfers.
If you immediately fill in the Moscow - Krakow route in the search for air tickets on specialized resources on the Internet, the system usually gives out not too cheap options. For example, a combined flight on the wings of Aeroflot and LOT Polish Airlines with a docking in Warsaw or a flight on the wings of S7 and Lufthansa via Munich will cost you 250 euros. Therefore, look for tickets separately for each of the segments. In this case, you will see, for example, tickets for 110 euros for a flight Moscow - Warsaw via Riga on the wings of Air Baltic, or for 135 euros - for the same segment of the route on a LOT Polish Airlines plane and for 30 euros - for the second segment Warsaw - Krakow all the same Polish airlines. Agree, almost double the cost savings justify the additional docking in the capital of Latvia?
Krakow Airport is named after John Paul II and is located 11 km from the city. After landing, do not rush to take a taxi. The bus route 292 will help you to get to the city, the stop of which is located to the right of the exit from Terminal 1. Tickets are purchased from the machine at the stop. You need coins to buy. A little further there is a railway station, from where the Balice Express trains leave for Krakow. Tickets are sold by the conductor. The fare is 1 and 3 euros, respectively.
If you land after 11 pm, take the 902 overnight bus service.
