Description of the attraction
The Monte Corno Natural Park is located on a sunny alpine plateau in the Italian valley of Val di Fiemme in South Tyrol. This is a great holiday destination for those who appreciate the beauty of unspoiled nature, for those who love outdoor sports and for those who understand the true meaning of simple things. Throughout the park, there are many accessible and well-equipped hiking trails, which can be mastered not only by experienced travelers, but also by beginners. A pleasant bonus while walking in the surrounding mountains will be acquaintance with representatives of wildlife - the diversity of ecosystems contributes to the fact that the park is home to several rare species of animals and birds.
The total area of the Monte Corno park is about 7 thousand hectares. This area, belonging to the sub-Mediterranean belt, is home to many species of animals and plants. In 2000, in the three-story building of an old mill in the town of Trodena, the park's visitor center was inaugurated, where you can book an excursion to the top that gave the park its name. Interestingly, the mill itself is still used for its intended purpose - it still grinds grain. In addition, in the visitor center, tourists can get information about the park, about its landscapes and natural heritage, as well as get acquainted with the culture and history of local inhabitants. One of the permanent exhibitions of the visit center is dedicated to the history of the small town of Troden. Kids will love a visit to the Ant Terrarium and Daxie Lab, where you can play with real microscopes.
