Cambodia's waterfalls are a beautiful sight to see with your own eyes, but tourists should take into account that in December-May (dry season) they practically dry up.

Kbal Chhai

You can get to this cascading 14-meter waterfall (it is used to supply residents of nearby cities with drinking water) by yourself, by renting a car or bike, or as part of an organized excursion (on a fine sunny day, you will be able to admire the 7-colored rainbow).

Phnom Kulen

On the territory of the park of the same name, there is a Stream of 1000 Lingams (at the bottom, if you wish, you can see phallic symbols and figures of Hindu gods carved from stone) - it ends with a 25-meter waterfall (consists of 2 tiers). There is a swimming dam under it. Tourists should definitely take a bath there, since the water of the stream is considered sacred.

Bow Sra

This waterfall consists of three steps: the first has a height of 8-12 m, and the second is 15-20 m. As for the third step, the speed of the fall of the water flow is faster than in the previous step. Not far from the waterfall, there is a village with a guest house - here travelers will be offered a bite to eat. Important: it should be borne in mind that it is impossible to get to the third step due to the impenetrable jungle (there are no paths; there is a risk of wild animals attacking people).

Koh Kong waterfalls

The main water attractions of Koh Kong are waterfalls:

  • Tatay: This waterfall is located 20 km from the city of Koh Kong, and during the rainy season, it is a water sill that is more than 4 m high.
  • Ko Poi: This waterfall, which "hides" in the jungle of the Cardamom Mountains, can be reached by boat (the walk will cost about $ 20). Travelers' attention should also be paid to the surroundings of the Koh Poi waterfall - on both sides of it there are large boulders that can be used as steps to climb up (stunning views open from the top).

The search for these waterfalls will not only be simplified, but will also allow you to avoid dangers (predatory animals live here and there are small bodies of water in which you should not swim because of a possible meeting with crocodiles) if you hire a guide (for their services they ask about $ 15 per day).
