The world capital of eternal summer, Pattaya is especially popular among Russian tourists. To escape from the gray autumn slush or escape from the winter frosts is as easy as shelling pears - just buy a ticket. For active travelers, Thailand offers a huge selection of entertainment - from night discos to walks to the waterfalls of Pattaya, and the most restless try to be in time everywhere, because the vacation ends so quickly!
To the birds of paradise
Namtok Chan Ta Tien is the closest waterfall to Pattaya. It is located in a national park 25 km from the beach holiday capital, but there is no public transport here. That is why, despite the proximity of a big city, this place remains quite secluded. But for those who like to discover new routes and directions, the road to the waterfall will not seem difficult. Taxi drivers willingly go here (the issue price is about 1,500 baht), and at the rental you can always rent a scooter or a car. The parking is guarded and located at the entrance to the park.
This waterfall near Pattaya looks especially spectacular at the end of the rainy season. A full-flowing stream, consisting of several levels and cascades, rushes rapidly downward from almost a kilometer height. Swimming in natural pools is allowed at each cascade, and a couple of equipped hiking trails will allow you to enjoy a walk in the surrounding jungle.
River Kwai and other pleasures
Unlike Namtok Chan Ta Tien, the Erawan waterfall is one of the most visited tourist sites in the country, and therefore you can think of the most varied transfer there. It is located in the Kanchanaburi province and will help you get to the unique natural miracle:
- Two-day guided excursions to the River Kwai. The cost of the pleasure is about 2200 baht. On the way, tourists will be able to see the most interesting historical sights and natural beauty, and spend the night in a small boat moored right on the river.
- Bus service Pattaya - Kanchanaburi via Bangkok. Having bought a ticket at the North Bus Station in Pattaya to the South Bus Station in Bangkok, you should transfer in the Thai capital to a minibus to the final destination. The journey will take about 5 hours, the price is about 230 baht.
- A direct flight from Pattaya to Kanchanaburi, oddly enough, will take about 7 hours. Twice a day at 9.30 and 19.00 buses start from the bus station on Third Street, located near the intersection of the latter with Central Street. The issue price is about 400 baht.
The Erawan waterfall in the national park of the same name is not its only attraction. Tourists are also shown karst caves and rock paintings of ancient people. The waters of Erawan fall from seven ledges, whose total height exceeds 830 meters. In addition to photo sessions against the backdrop of a unique cascade, guests can count on picnics in the bosom of nature, swimming in natural reservoirs, fish pedicure and communication with monkeys.
