The holiday season in Malta lasts all year round, but it is best to come here in May - September. It should be noted that in summer there is no precipitation at all, and in October-February, short rains are possible (5-6 days a month).
Features of rest in Maltese resorts by seasons
- Spring: in spring, as well as in autumn, the island offers health treatments, for example, in SPA-complexes at hotels or in one of the 3 specialized thalassotherapy centers. In April, it's just the right time to go on picnics and admire the riot of greenery and colors (chamomile fields, the kingdom of orchids). Even if in May you do not dare to swim in the sea, you will definitely not give up sunbathing (daytime temperatures can reach +25 degrees).
- Summer: in summer it is hot on the island (+ 30-35 degrees), but the heat is easily tolerated here, thanks to the sea breeze.
- Autumn: You can devote the whole September to a beach holiday, but from October the weather will gradually deteriorate (strong clouds, cool winds). Since it gets dark early on the island in autumn, sightseeing should be planned in the morning.
- Winter: there is no frost or snow on the island - this time of the year is characterized by windy and rainy weather. But despite this, there are fine days in Malta with clear skies.
Beach season in Malta
The beach season starts at the beginning of May and ends at the end of September. If you are not a fan of the heat, which is observed in the 3 summer months, then it is worth relaxing on the island in September (complete calm, the water temperature is +25 degrees).
Despite the fact that Malta is a small island, each bay or bay has its own unique beach. For example, near the town of Melikha there is a sandy beach Meliha Bay with a gentle bottom (couples with children will appreciate the rest here). In addition, water activities are available here (you can rent water skis, scooters, sea bicycles, canoes). Excellent places for swimming and sunbathing are the beaches of Golden Beach, Preity Bay, Paradise Bay.
Diving
You can go diving all year round, because even in winter the water temperature is at +14 degrees. However, the ideal time for diving is summer, with the best water visibility. At this time, underwater photography is also very popular.
In the local waters you can meet groupers, moray eels, sunfish, seahorses, crabs, starfish, brightly colored hard and soft corals. Popular dive sites: Cirkewwa, St. Paul's Island, Anchor Bay, L-Ahrax Point, Delimara Point.
Malta is an opportunity to spend your vacation in an exciting and varied way, get acquainted with the ancient history and master the English language in a relaxed atmosphere.
