Description of the attraction

Lake Lebedin is located on the territory of the Hutsulshchina National Park, 5 kilometers north-west of the village of Sheshory, Kosiv district of Ivano-Frankivsk region and belongs to the Sheshorsk environmental research department. The diverse nature of the reserve is reflected in the local landscape: here you can see plains, forests, meadows, mountains, swamps and a lake, which is the most famous treasure of the entire park.

The lake, which has an oval-rounded shape and enormous size (approximately 100 by 200 meters), is located at an altitude of 650 meters above sea level. The depth of Lake Lebedin reaches 28 meters. The inhabitants of this region from time immemorial believed that the lake has no bottom and that mystical creatures live in it. There are many legends about this lake. Naturally, everything is mystical and tragic. One of them says that in the waters of the wonderful Lake Lebedin, a girl and a boy in love, whose parents were categorically against their marriage, have forever united.

Being on the banks of Lebedin, surrounded by an old beech forest, which surrounded the water surface on all sides, one can understand why so many folk legends are associated with it. There is a special atmosphere here, this place seems to be shrouded in a haze of romance and mystery.

Wishing to see the picturesque pictures that open to tourists in this wonderful part of the park, lovers of beauty come to the Carpathian tract Lebedin not only from all over Ukraine, but also from other countries.
