Description of the attraction
The children's railway is one of the most striking sights of the city of Kemerovo, where both kids and their parents love to spend their time. In addition, it is here that a very entertaining and popular tourist route passes.
The opening of the Kemerovo Children's Railway took place relatively recently - in 2007, its length is about 4 km. It originates from the building of the Kuzbass branch of Russian Railways, and connects two stations - Pionerskaya and Lake Krasnoe.
The initiator of the opening of the "Road of childhood" was the head of the railway A. Tselko with the support of the governor of the region A. Tuleyev. A substantial amount of money was allocated from the budget for the construction of the road and modern railway station buildings at each station. As conceived by the authors of the project, the ChRW plays the role of not only entertainment for children, but also performs the function of forming vocational guidance for the younger generation. Today, the ChRW is also a rather popular recreation place for residents and guests of the city of Kemerovo, in connection with which additional flights are launched here in the "high season" so that everyone can ride on a real train.
The trains of the children's railway consist of three brightly decorated carriages (each with 36 passenger seats) and a diesel locomotive. The journey takes about 20 minutes, during which passengers can leisurely view the surrounding landscapes. The train is serviced and operated by children and adolescents, under the guidance of experienced instructors. Children can try themselves in the role of an assistant driver, conductor or station attendant.
Not far from the Kemerovo ChRW there is a picturesque lake and a beautiful park. Therefore, every year more and more families with children prefer to spend their free time here.
