Description of the attraction
The city's central zoo is located in the Dusit area, next to Vimanmek Palace on Ratwiti Road. Lush greenery and spacious enclosures make Dusit Zoo one of the finest zoos in Asia.
Previously, this 18 hectare area was home to the King Rama V botanical garden. Now you can see the pristine tropical flora here and relax from the noise of the streets in the shade of greenery. The zoo contains a large number of mammals, reptiles and birds, including some rare species of South Asian animals. Also here you can find such popular animals as hippos, bears, monkeys. There is a lake in the center of the zoo where you can hire a rowing boat for a walk. Thai food is available at a reasonable price at the restaurants along the lakeside.
