The relatively young city of Tel Aviv was formed in 1909 as a district of old Jaffa. Today it is the economic center of the State of Israel, and the Tel Aviv embankment stretches along the sea for several kilometers, absorbing the whole rhythm and character of the city - energetic, strong and athletic.

Tel Aviv is called the city that never sleeps. Even in the shalom, you can find working restaurants and clubs, most of which are concentrated on the waterfront. Tel Aviv here rests and goes in for sports, makes dates and business meetings, has breakfast and dinner. Hundreds of restaurants and souvenir shops are open on the embankment and beaches, jogging and bike paths are laid along them, and the bulk of the building facades that come out here are the best hotels in the city.
The sand on Tel Aviv beaches is clean and fine, sifted, and showers and changing rooms are kept exceptionally clean. The beaches along the embankment are municipal, and there are usually not enough sun loungers and umbrellas for everyone during the peak season.
The townspeople call their embankment Taelet and are very proud of it. Each segment of Tel Aviv's seaside business card has its own name:
- Tel Baruch is located near Sde Dov Airport. Next to this stretch of coast, there is the best beach for families with children and volleyball courts, umbrellas and picnic tables.
- An artificial lagoon was built on Metzitsim, and therefore the sea is always calm here. This stretch of Tel Aviv's waterfront stretches south of the port.
- The main part of the embankment is called Lahat. It was built in 1939, reconstructed half a century later and is decorated with several sculptures and memorial plaques.
Hummus and its admirers
One of the signature dishes best served by the restaurant chefs on the Tel Aviv waterfront is hummus. It is ideally prepared in establishments in the area of the city port. In recent years, Namal, as the port with the adjacent section of the embankment is called, has been transformed into a separate entertainment town. At night, music from the best DJs thunders here, and during the day children walk and roller-skates hang out. On Friday, this part of Tel Aviv's waterfront hosts organic fruit vendors, and on Saturday, local antiques dealers.
