Description of the attraction
Durban's waterfront has become one of the city's most exciting and important projects in the past decade. Paradoxically, this amazing area with its breathtaking landscapes and convenient location was until recently underestimated and not in demand, but it is destined to become one of the most prestigious places in Durban to live, work and play.
Durban's waterfront spans from Bell Street from the harbor entrance to Mahatma Gandhi Beach, formerly known as Point Road. Over the past decade, the family-run Ushaka Marine World water park, Sea World aquarium and dolphinarium, several shopping malls with a variety of shops and restaurants ranging from fast food to ethnic themed gourmet restaurants have been built here. Dine out on the menu at the Shipwrek at Ushaka Marine World, surrounded by swimming sharks. There are many family-friendly attractions along the waterfront. You can also walk around Minitown, a miniature model of the city of Durban, and visit the Snake Park.
Durban's waterfront can be compared to some of the best beaches in the world, such as the beaches in Miami Beach. Here you can meet surfers and vacationers enjoying the warm waters of the ocean. And what amazing sunrises and sunsets can be viewed from the balconies of luxury apartments of numerous hotels overlooking the ocean.
The Durban Waterfront Redevelopment initiative was not only an attempt to expand the urban area to turn the area into another theme park or tourist resort. This project resulted in the creation of a unique landmark in the city.
