Description of the attraction
The Mikhail Bulgakov Museum is one of the most famous literary and memorial museums in Kiev. This unique museum, located on the famous Andreevsky Spusk, is dedicated to the Kiev period of the famous author's life (1906-1919), as well as to his family and literary characters depicted in the novel "White Guard", which the writer's fantasy settled in this house.
The first thing that catches the eye of the visitors of the M. Bulgakov Museum is its color scheme. Authentic things that belonged to the Bulgakov family are interspersed with white dummies and models of lost household items, novels and mythical features of the interior. Thus, on the territory of just a few rooms, the stories of the Bulgakov family and the Turbins family, the life of the writer and his heroes, were practically harmoniously intertwined.
The literary and memorial environment in the Mikhail Bulgakov Museum is intertwined in the most bizarre way, going into other dimensions. Here, an ordinary wardrobe can play the role of a door separating a Moscow apartment from a Kiev apartment, in which the owner's office was located. Traveling around the museum, visitors do not leave the feeling of displacement of space: here you can see the very sky that the heroes of the works of Mikhail Afanasyevich saw, and the flame that unsuccessfully tries to burn the manuscripts, and much more than the writer's works are so allegorically overflowing with.
The revived tradition of drinking tea on the veranda of the house gives a special unique charm to the Mikhail Bulgakov Museum - not every museum can boast of the fact that it transfers to past eras not only with static expositions, but also with dynamic reconstructions of the past. Moreover, all interested visitors of the museum can take part in this tea party, thus becoming for a few moments residents of the house itself and representatives of a bygone era.
