Bangkok has several central districts where the most famous nightclubs, bars and discos are concentrated.
Patpong - the jewel of Bangkok nightlife
Patpong is a multi-street neighborhood that locals and tourists alike refer to as the Red Light District. At night, here you can meet not only young people looking for adventure and enjoying life in the many go-go bars and noisy discos. Respectable matrons, families with children, aged travelers and similar decent public come here, as on one of the streets of Patpong there is a market that sells copies of world brands products: handbags, clothes, shoes, accessories and much more. Some fans of incendiary dances and sex shows, embarrassed to immediately go to the place they like, mix with the crowd of buyers, pretend that they want to buy this or that thing, ask the price of it, and then dive into the go-go bar to become part of another world. The most famous go-go bars in the area are Safari, King's Corner, Pink Panther. The prettiest girls of the city gather here.
For those who are looking for a safe haven in Bangkok nightlife and are not interested in sex performances, Patpong has several cozy places (O'Reilly's Irish Pub, The Barbican, Vietnam war), where you can enjoy relaxing, unobtrusive music have a cocktail and play billiards.
You can walk around Patpong without fear for your own life and wallet. Police are always on duty in the streets, and surveillance cameras are installed on the houses. Once in the bar, you must not forget about the safety of your belongings. Robberies have occurred in Patpong's nightclubs and bars.
Khao San Road for party fans
Fans of discos, loud music of different genres, alcohol at low prices in Bangkok go to Khao San Street. The nightclubs here are interspersed with questionable bars, where they sell cheap beer to everyone right on the street at a plastic counter, and the right mood is maintained not by a DJ, but by a portable tape recorder. There is no lack of customers in these bars. Here, ragamuffins from all over the city gather to sit right on the asphalt, chatting with neighbors and enjoying the music. The richer audience goes to the decent bars "The Club", "Silk", "Lava Bar". Thai musicians perform here as DJs. There are also several bars with live music. These include Brick Bar and Shamrock. The relatively new AB bar also evokes good reviews. On its stage every evening talented musical groups perform popular dance hits. And on Tuesdays, the bar is occupied by connoisseurs of jazz.
Most of the local entertainment establishments start their work at 23.00.
Soy Cowboy - 40 bars for every taste
It is said that the first bar on Soi Cowboy Street appeared in the 70s of the last century. Its owner was a man who constantly wore a hat with a curled brim, which is why everyone called him a cowboy. The street got its name in honor of him. Currently, there are about 40 nightclubs and bars, which are not preferred by advanced fans of Bangkok nightlife, but curious tourists and tired local employees who defended their shift at work and decided to relax before going to bed with a glass of alcohol. Therefore, the Soi Cowboy area is considered quiet and safe.
In most local establishments, chairs for visitors are arranged around a brightly lit stage where half-naked girls dance. After the dance, the girls go out to the visitors to flirt, chat and, if they are lucky, find a companion for the night who can generously thank them for their services. Each bar has its own peculiarity. For example, in “The Dollhouse” there are very young girls dressed in school uniforms, and performances in “Rawhide” are reminiscent of ballet performances.
