Description of the attraction

The name Emerald Pool translates as Emerald Lake. It is located in the Morne Trois National Park, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as a unique park of its kind in the Eastern Caribbean. This is one of the most beautiful places in Dominica - the crystal-clear water of the lake and a small twelve-meter waterfall are protected from all sides by volcanic rocks and a picturesque rainforest.

You can get to the lake by car or from Roseau by bus. The lake is a five minute walk from the road connecting Castle Bruce to Canefield. Castle Bruce is a village on the east side of the island, and Canefield is a small town north of Roseau, home to a cultural center and airport. You will have to walk part of the way from the road, along a convenient path in the rainforest, where you can easily get lost if you get off the trail. On the way, you will come across several streams with thrown bridges. Halfway down the road, you will see an observation deck with a wonderful view from above of the Emerald Lake.

You can swim in the lake, the water here is always quite cool and crystal clear. The sun's rays, penetrating the input and refracting in it, make the lake surface emerald. Emerald Lake is an untouched corner of wildlife, so various films are shot here, and newlyweds often come here to get married. If you come to Dominica, be sure to visit this lake and swim in its emerald, cool water!
