Description of the attraction
The famous theater for young spectators appeared in the city of Vologda in 1976. The theater is also famous as the Theater for Children and Youth. The first director of the Youth Theater was Ya. V. Nuss, and directed by V. P. Barons - it was these people who recruited young graduates of the Novosibirsk Theater School to work in the theater. During the first four years, the theater did not have its own building, so he traveled a lot around the cities of the Vologda region, staging performances in houses of culture, schools and other venues not intended for this.
Today the Theater for Young Spectators is located in the building of the previously existing Pushkin People's House, in which it has existed since 1979.
The first performance of the Vologda Tetra of the young spectator took place on May 31, 1976. In 1980, the Youth Theater was awarded the State Prize of the RSFSR named after Stanislavsky K. S. for staging "Forgive Me" based on the famous play by Viktor Astafiev, directed by Valery Baronov. The premiere of the play took place at the end of 1979.
In 1985, Boris Alexandrovich Granatov was appointed to the place of the main director of the Youth Theater - it was from that moment that a new period of the theater's creative life began. The very first performance, staged under the direction of Granatov, was called "The Lizard" - it was this performance that excited not only the audience, but also theatrical critics. From that time on, the performances of director Granatov had a wide resonance where the theater successfully took part in festivals.
From 1991 until 1994, the theater had a famous school-studio of dramatic art, graduates of which were L. Kochneva, S. Vikhrev, A. Petrik, A. Lobantsev and many other presenters. at the moment, artists of the Youth Theater.
The versatile creative life of the acting troupe is associated not only with performances - the artists also devote a lot of time to dancing under the guidance of a professional and experienced choreographer Fetodovskaya. In addition, there are permanent lessons dedicated to vocals with the teacher L. Vasilyeva, as well as lessons in fencing and stage movement, held under the guidance of the master of martial arts Guryanov.
The largest number of performances under the direction of director Granatov have a versatile "biography". For example, in 1999 the production of "Carmen" was nominated for the National Theater Award called "The Golden Mask", while the artists Reznichenko and Zohrabyan received the main prize in the category "Best Artists' Work".
The famous play "The Little Prince" - a laureate of the festivals "On the Threshold of Youth" and "Harlequin", as well as the winner of the audience award "Golden Turnip" in 2005; for the best female role E. Avdeenko received a diploma at the festival "Golden Knight" in 2006 in Moscow.
In addition, performances for children are also important. At the festival "Fairy Tale" the main prize was awarded to the production of "Thumbelina" in 1992 based on the work of G. Kh. Andersen. The play "Love for One Orange" by V. Sinakevich in 2005 at the Second All-Russian Festival of Theater Arts "Harlequin" was awarded medals of the national prize, as well as diplomas in 5 nominations. The play "The Tale of the Chinese Emperor and the Blonde Fairy" by I. Chernyshev won in 2008 as "the most plastic performance" in the nomination "Crystal Slipper" at the Fifth Fairy Festival in the city of Novy Urengoy.
Boris Granatov, in collaboration with production designer S. Zohrabyan and costume designer O. Reznichenko, actively and rather successfully develops the principles and motives of author's directing in the Vologda Theater for Young Spectators, taking into account all the new accents and rhythms in the works of V. Shakespeare, A. Chekhov, A. Ostrovsky, A. Pushkin, M. Gorky, A. Vampilov.
The Vologda Youth Theater is a wonderful theater with a rich repertoire and expressive artistic language, as well as the same aesthetic demands not only for "adults", but also for "children's" performances.
