Description of the attraction
The Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the village of Lazarevskoye is a functioning Orthodox church and one of the attractions of this resort.
A small but very beautiful church in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was erected on the Black Sea coast in 1999. The church in the style of Old Russian architecture was built in record time - 4 months. Its solemn consecration took place on April 30, 1999.
The facade of the temple is decorated with mosaic icons made by the best Athonite craftsmen. The main shrine of the temple is a particle of the relics of St. Nicholas, which was presented as a gift by the Metropolitan of Kuban and Yekaterinodar Isidor, on the day of the consecration of the temple. The interior of the church is striking in its amazing beauty: a wooden carved iconostasis made by Russian craftsmen from Sofrino, wall paintings made in the best traditions of Russian and Greek craftsmen of the XIV-XV centuries. in accordance with the canon of Orthodox icon painting, and icons made in the academic and Byzantine styles by icon painters of different times.
For painting the walls of the church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, scenes from the Gospel were chosen: the Resurrection of the Lord, the Most Holy Trinity, the Last Supper, the Descent of the Holy Spirit. The walls of the temple, made in blue, are also one of the traditions of painting in Orthodox churches. The ensemble of the painting of the temple was carried out by Moscow artists E. Gorina, V. Soldatov and M. Soldatova.
