Historical Museum. DI Yavornytsky is one of the oldest national museums in Ukraine. The museum is located in the city of Dnepropetrovsk, at the address - Karl Marx Avenue, 16

The architectural monument was founded in 1849 initially as the "Museum of Antiquity of the Yekaterinoslav province". The modern building of the Historical Museum was erected in 1905. Its formation and development is closely connected with the name of Academician D. Yavornitsky, who since 1902 was the director of the museum. In 1940 the museum became known as the DI Yavornytsky Dnepropetrovsk Historical Museum.

Visitors to this historical museum will be able to learn all of its 155-year history, see a large number of collected museum items. Namely: various historical and cultural monuments of national and world cultures, various interesting archaeological finds, relics of the Zaporozhye Cossacks, early printed editions of the 16th-17th centuries, archival and photographic collections, Scythian and Sarmatian antiquities. Here you will see a whole cult collection of antique porcelain, clocks, icons, furniture, weapons and many other historical items.

If you get tired of traditional excursions around the museum, you can visit themed evenings, museum lounges, and meet outstanding people of this wonderful land.
