Description of the attraction
Odense is one of the oldest cities in Denmark with its history, traditions and rich cultural heritage. Among the most famous attractions, a special place is occupied by the world-famous open-air museum "Funen Village". The village is an endless source of information for those interested in Danish history and ethnography.
The Funen Village Museum is located in one of the most beautiful and picturesque corners of the city. The open-air museum is a real village with 25 farms and wooden houses from the 16th-19th centuries that were brought to the museum from all over Denmark. Here, visitors have a great opportunity to see the village life of local residents.
In summer, the museum workers change into national clothes, creating the illusion of an ordinary old village: they work in the garden and field, cook food in ovens, weave yarn, forge iron, take care of pets. Everything in the museum contributes to the creation of a unique village atmosphere with its measured rhythm of life.
Today the Funen Village Museum is one of the most famous cultural and historical attractions in Denmark. Every year the open-air museum is visited by a large number of tourists from all over the world.
