Description of the attraction

One of the most popular valleys in Cappadocia is the Kyzylchukur Valley, the natural beauty of which has attracted thousands of travelers from all over the world over the years. However, it is the sunset rays that make this area uniquely beautiful. The Kyzylchukur valley is located next to the Ortahisar district, from where hundreds of tourists flock every evening to the Peribajalary rock - the best platform for viewing the surrounding area.

Kyzylchukur nature is unique. The rocks of the surrounding rocks have an unusual pink hue, which in the rays of the setting sun acquires a rich color, and the landscape seems even not lunar, but Martian. That is why the Kyzylchukur valley is also called the Red Valley. Before the eyes of an astonished tourist who has found himself in these parts, an extraordinary picture appears that is difficult to describe. The traveler is surrounded by bizarre mountains, strange hilly valleys and rocks of such unusual shapes that sometimes it is difficult to believe in their natural origin - cones, pyramids, rockets, animals, freaks and much more. Particularly popular with tourists are the so-called rocks, which are very similar in shape to giant mushrooms. At the top of the "leg" of the so-called mushroom, massive stone caps are held in an unusual way, ready to fall on the head of a gaping traveler. Once in Kyzylchukur, you get the impression that you are in some kind of fabulous country from children's cartoons and dreams. From the contemplation of these pranks of Mother Nature, you experience some kind of wild, incomparable delight. There is a constant feeling that you are participating in a fun festive action and it seems that only for a moment the music died down and all the clowns froze, but a moment will pass and everyone will start dancing again in this crazy and crazy round dance.

Kyzylchukur, especially at sunset, is colored with multi-colored tones of sunlight. As the sun begins to tilt towards the horizon, its crimson light plays intricately with shades in the folds of tuff waves. One has only to close his eyes for a short while, and suddenly, opening them, you see how everything is immersed in a completely different range of colors. The sight is so bewitching that it is difficult to take your eyes off. It's like changing color cards in a projector lens. That is why Kyzylchukur in Cappadocia is one of the best places in the world to watch the sunset.

In addition, churches are carved into the Kyzylchukur rock, which are concentrated around the temple of John the Baptist, thereby forming a settlement, which may have been the first Christian settlement in this territory.

At the entrance to the valley there is the Grape Church, which is part of the monastery complex, carved into a tuff cone, and is located at its lowest level (7-9 centuries).

Every year the number of tourists who come to Cappadocia specifically to admire the picturesque sunset increases significantly. Tourists have long been welcomed guests in this area.
