Description of the attraction
The Dominican monastery was founded on this site in the 13th century. It was rebuilt several times and the current complex of buildings is made in the Baroque style. The main attraction of the monastery is the central crucifix and the wall fresco above the main altar by Paolo Veneziano.
The monastery museum contains works by masters of the Dubrovno and Venetian schools of painting of the 13th-17th centuries, including the painting by Lovro Dobrichevich "The Baptism of Christ" (mid-15th century), as well as religious objects, precious jewelry and vestments of clergymen.
In the part of the Dominican monastery, where in the 15th century. there was a chapel of St. Sebastian, there is a gallery "Sebastian". The works of contemporary artists are exhibited here.
