Description of the attraction
On the east coast of the Greek island of Thassos, about 24 km from the capital of the same name and 42 km from the port of Skala Prinos, there is a small resort village of Kinira, which the locals also call Loutrow. This is an ideal place for those who like to relax away from the hustle and bustle and one of the most beautiful corners of the island, surrounded by picturesque mountains with lush vegetation and numerous springs. Directly opposite Kinira is the stunningly beautiful island of the same name, overgrown with pine and olive trees with steep rocky shores.
The settlement dates back to ancient times. Once upon a time there were famous gold mines here. The ruins of Byzantine baths and the remains of an early Christian basilica have survived to this day.
Quite recently, Kinira was not popular with tourists coming to the island. The main occupation of the few inhabitants of the village was fishing and agriculture. Today it is a well-maintained resort with good infrastructure. Here you will find an excellent selection of excellent hotels and apartments for all tastes. The town is famous for its excellent fish restaurants and taverns, where you can taste traditional local dishes from a wide variety of very fresh seafood. You will also be delighted with the excellent sandy and pebble beach of Kinira.
About 2 km from Kinira is one of the best beaches in Thassos - Paradise with golden sand and clear azure-blue water. The beach has a rather shallow entrance into the water, which is especially convenient if you are relaxing with children.
Breathtaking landscapes, magnificent beaches, crystal clear waters of the Aegean Sea, hospitality of local residents and a special cozy atmosphere attract more and more tourists to Kinira every year.

Kinira A town with a very bad coastline. 2 beaches are small, dirty, littered. Hotel information is unreliable. August-September: dominance of wasps.
