Description of the attraction

Zoological Park "Attika" is a private zoo located on the outskirts of Athens and occupying an area of 20 hectares. It was opened in May 2000. At first it was created as a Bird Park. At that time, the collection of birds living in the park was considered the third largest in the world and consisted of more than 1000 individuals of 300 different species.

In April 2001, a new section "The World of Reptiles" was opened, where one could already see crocodiles, pythons, boas and other reptiles. And in July 2002, a section "Greek Fauna" appeared with brown bears, foxes, wild cats, lynxes, wolves, etc. In February 2003, the "African Savannah" was added with giraffes, zebras, antelopes. Jaguars, llamas, snow leopards, white lions, and other mammals also appeared. At the end of June 2003, monkeys appeared at the zoo. Since then, many other interesting and rare animals have been added to the zoo. In 2010, a dolphinarium was opened at the zoo, where you can not only admire dolphins and sea lions, but also watch shows with their participation. Some species of animals and birds that live in Attica are listed in the Red Book.

There is a picnic area on the territory of the park, there is a cozy cafe and a children's playground, as well as a souvenir shop. Professional guides will conduct an exciting excursion for children and adults.

Interactive programs have been developed especially for children in order to inform about the importance of preserving the natural habitat of each species and respect for nature in general.

Zoological Park "Attika" is considered one of the most visited in the world, and is open to visitors all year round. He is a member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
