Description of the attraction

Asparuhov Bridge is a reinforced concrete bridge in the city of Varna, the longest construction of this type in Bulgaria. In addition, it is part of the E-87 highway and the Black Sea highway.

The bridge is thrown over the canals that connect Varna and the Black Sea. The height of the structure is 50 meters, and the length is 2050 meters, while the piles in some places reach a depth of 4 meters. The total weight of the entire structure is more than three thousand tons, 38 pairs of supports. The capacity of the Asparukhov Bridge is 10 thousand cars per day.

The new port "Varna Zapadnaya" forced the authorities to think about a convenient shipping channel. The construction of the overpass bridge was started in 1973. The bridge was opened for traffic in 1976, thus the authorities also connected the center of Varna with the sleeping quarters.

The bridge is open not only to car traffic, but also to pedestrians. For all fans of extreme sensations, there is a club called "Adrenaline", which will help to realize the desire to jump from a bridge with an elastic rope.

Excellent panoramas open from the bridge: Varna Bay, and to the west - Varna Lake. Also, not far from the bridge, Cape Galata is visible, the ruins of the thousand-year-old Asparuhov Wall, which prevented the raids of the Byzantine fleet.
