Description of the attraction

The monument to Georgy Mikhailovich Vitsin was erected on July 26, 2008 on the central alley of the Zelenogorsk Park of Culture and Rest. The date of the installation of the monument to the famous actor was timed to coincide with the 460th anniversary of the city of Zelenogorsk and the anniversary of Vitsin himself. He would have turned 90 years old.

Soviet and Russian film and theater actor Georgy Mikhailovich Vitsin was born in the Finnish town of Terioki (today's Zelenogorsk) on April 23, 1918 (official date). But, relying on the records found from the church book of the Holy Cross Church, where little Gosha was baptized, he was born on April 5 (old style) 1917, and April 23 is his name day. There is an opinion that Vitsin's mother corrected the year of his birth to 1918 in order to place her son in a forest health school.

Georgy Vitsin made his debut in the film "Hello, Moscow!" in 1945. He became famous after the movie "The Reserve Player". Then he starred in the film "She Loves You!". In these films, Georgy Mikhailovich played the roles of young boys, although in his life he was already well over 30.

The wide popularity and love of the viewer G. M. Vitsin was brought by the image of a Coward, embodied by him in the comedies of Leonid Gaidai: "Moonshiners", "Dog Watchdog and an unusual cross", "Operation" Y "and other adventures of Shurik," Prisoner of the Caucasus, or Shurik's New Adventures. " The viewer also remembered Vitsin as the adventurer Sam from “Business People”, Balzaminov from “The Marriage of Balzaminov”, Sir Andrew from “Twelfth Night”, Khmyr from “Gentlemen of Fortune”, the Wizard from “An Old Old Tale”.

G. M. Vitsin had a talent for recitation and worked very hard on dubbing animated films. He was a great artist - he drew cartoons of actors, tried himself in graphics, sculpture, painting.

The monument to the outstanding actor was made by the sculptor Yuri Kryakvin. Vitsin appears in the image of the official Misha Balzaminov from the movie "The Marriage of Balzaminov". The sculpture is made of bronze. The weight is 300 kg, the height is 2.4 m. It is interesting that at the age of 46 Vitsin played a 25-year-old boy. Georgy Mikhailovich was made up for a long time before shooting in order to rejuvenate him more. Then he laughed about this and joked: "The marriage of the embalmed."

Yuri Dmitrievich Kryakvin admitted that in the process of work he corrected his creative plans. At first, the author had the idea to immortalize Faina Ranevskaya, since he personally knew this actress, even created her portrait and, in general, simply adored. But then he found out that Georgy Vitsin was from Zelenogorsk, and changed his plans, because this is his favorite actor.

Yu. D. Kryakvin is thinking of making Yuri Nikulin and Yevgeny Morgunov next to Georgy Vitsin. Even the models have already been made. Nikulin is depicted in a short jacket with a funny tie, in big funny moccasins, pipe trousers and with a small hat on his head. He simply makes a helpless gesture at the sight of his fellow artists and park visitors. The artist depicted Morgunov with crossed arms on his bare chest. Unfortunately, there are currently no funds to install these statues.
