Description of the attraction
All tourists who come to La Paz consider it necessary to visit the largest university in Bolivia, the University of San Andres. Its construction began in 1830. And it ended with the construction of a new Monoblock only in 1947. Significantly, its architect was Emilio Villanueva Peñaranda, who is considered to be the founder of the neotivanacot style. It was from the university building that the development of high-rise buildings began in La Paz. This is how the building of the Central Bank, the City Hall, and the first stadium appeared in the city. Tourists love this place, which has immortalized the image of the world famous freedom fighter. In the garden of the university, on the wall there is a portrait of Ernesto Che Guevara. He is over 20 years old. Repeatedly they tried to destroy, erase, paint over it. But nobody succeeded. The hero depicted is reborn every time as a symbol of the unbroken spirit of freedom and the struggle against imperialism.
