Description of the attraction
The village of Podmayachny, located in the northeast of Kerch, is known not only for its excellent beaches, boarding houses and recreation centers, but also for an unusual ostrich farm for these places with the appropriate name "Exotic". It covers an area of 10 hectares and is located a couple of kilometers from the Kerch ferry crossing.
The first ostriches for breeding were brought to Kerch in the spring of 2004. These exotic birds quickly got used to the local climate and food. Two months later, the ostriches gave birth to their first offspring, and since then the number of birds has been constantly growing. Moreover, not only ostriches live on the Exotic farm, but also pheasants, peacocks, ponies, llamas, donkeys, birds of prey and many other animals.
Of course, the work of the farm is a great contribution to the prosperity of the farm. It brings together highly qualified specialists who have studied at Russian and Ukrainian ostrich farms. Employees are happy to provide interesting excursions for visitors to the farm.
The restaurant located on the farm offers a good lunch and a variety of exotic dishes. Visitors are offered ostrich shashlik, ostrich eggs, a variety of soups and much more. All meals in the restaurant are prepared with fresh and high quality ingredients. It should be borne in mind that the cooking process takes a lot of time, since cooks do not use semi-finished products and blanks. Those who love to eat outdoors can sit at a table on the terrace or in the gazebo. The restaurant works until the last client.
The cozy atmosphere of the restaurant is also worth noting. Its interior is decorated with paintings, animal skins, various crafts made from ostrich feathers and eggs. All of these works of art are for sale but are quite expensive. Although tourists who come to the farm in groups often buy ostrich eggs, feathers, leather and other souvenirs as a keepsake.
You can spend a few days on the farm staying in a small hotel located in a two-story cottage.
