Description of the attraction

Turanj is a small tourist village in Dalmatia, located between Zadar and Biograd, which is only five kilometers to the northwest. About 1200 inhabitants live here.

In summer, Turanj is a mecca for those who like to bask on the beach. But besides this, very close to the village there are several parks of national importance - Kornati, Lake Vransko, as well as such natural parks as Telaščica and Krka.

If we talk about the history of this place, then the settlement existed here in the Bronze Age, and scientists attribute the first archaeological finds to the Stone Age. Turan was named after the ruins of a medieval fortress that were discovered in the immediate vicinity of the modern village.

In the center of the village is the Church of the Virgin Mary of Carmel. Since the 15th century, a temple festival has been celebrated here annually on July 16, so during the tourist season, special events are organized here, in which everyone can take part. In addition, there are several more churches in this village that will be interesting as attractions.

Accommodation here is possible both in hotels and in numerous apartments of any level.
